Go Me!

I managed to wreck the protective shield I bought for my iPad because the damned thing was flipping welded to its stupid backing. It came in a tube, and so was all curled up, which made unpeeling it that much more difficult. First it stuck to itself, then it stuck to me. It comes with a spray that I was supposed to spray all over my hands and the shield itself to prevent fingerprint transfer. I was then supposed to apply the wet shield to my iPad. I'm sure the liquid didn't present any type of compatibility issue, but I still didn't like the idea of slapping a wet piece of plastic on said iPad. Which is a moot point because the adhesive surface nailed my wrist as I was pulling it, and came away with a nice imprint of same. So it's toast, because there is no room for error with this thing.

I think I'm going to buy a couple of nice, cheap shields.

The iPad arrived today. So far, I have connected it to my wireless, downloaded the iBook app, and synced my Mobile Me account...although my calendar doesn't seem to have moved. Can't access all my email yet because as usual I am having trouble setting up the account. I thought sync'ing would handle all that, but apparently not.

Not crazy about the Safari interface, although I'm sure there are ways to dress it up. I plan to use it mostly as an eBook reader, so if I can't make everything work, no worries. But I would like all my email. I can read SFFNet Mail on the web server, but I can't access my newsgroup for some weird reason.
