a short update

The iPad arrived today. So far, I have connected it to my wireless, downloaded the iBook app, and synced my Mobile Me account...although my calendar doesn't seem to have moved. Can't access all my email yet because as usual I am having trouble setting up the account. I thought sync'ing would handle all that, but apparently not.

Not crazy about the Safari interface, although I'm sure there are ways to dress it up. I plan to use it mostly as an eBook reader, so if I can't make everything work, no worries. But I would like all my email. I can read SFFNet Mail on the web server, but I can't access my newsgroup for some weird reason.

Try using the Session login on sff.net. That's the only way my iPhone will work with it.

I access from a few different computers so I don't use a newsreader, just webnews.

I updated the iPad software, and Webnews started working. Still can't set up a MacMail account with my sff.net addy. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious.
