A couple of months ago, I unearthed a set of pale sage green flannel sheets that Mom gave me years ago. I didn't use them for some time because I felt them too warm, but this winter they're a go. I've used them for the last month or so, and have been washing them and putting them right back on the bed. I don't even want to think about regular sheets right now. But I also don't want to wear out these sheets, so.

The set was from Lands End, so this evening I checked out the site to see what was available. Found a set on sale. Chili pepper red. 40% discount with the code I found on the website.

Happy. And warm.

I use flannel sheets year round as well, for exactly the same reason. They are so soft. I prefer the green, blue to purple range myself.

Red has always been my favorite color. When I was a child, I wanted red sheets (which weren't available) and my mother tried to dye some sheets red for me. They came out dark pink--better than nothing, but not really red. Then...red sheets began to be available, and when I found them in flannel I was delighted.

I also like dark blue sheets and have one set of navy flannel. Don't like pastels, don't like flowered.

Purple for me. Whenever I find purple of any shade or hue (except pale orchidy things) I buy them. I agree on the flowered ones, flowers are for the garden or paintings not sheets.

My LE comforter is multicolor paisley--sage green, white and cream, orange, and deeper reds like vermilion. Very bold, but shaded well away from the blue range of the spectrum. I didn't want white sheets, and the cream looked too blah. My pale sage sheets work well with this, as well as with my Marimekko (sp?) comforter, which is striped but pretty much the same palette. The chili pepper sheets will also work with both comforters.
