Doesnt everyone spend the night before T-giving first-drafting the next book?

The night air tasted sharp, as though it had flowed over ice on its way to the island. Jani tightened the fasteners of her weatherall's throatpiece, then worked her hands deeper into her pockets. Gloved though they were, they ached, as did her face, her feet. I used to run about in a t-shirt and trainers in weather like this. Back when she was thirteen, and impervious to weather. Back in her human days.

What, you mean everyone doesn't?

Gotta get it done. Gotta get it done. Gotta get it done.

23 pages so far today! My normal speed is more like 6.

What, you mean everyone doesn't?

We're sick.

Gotta get it done. Gotta get it done. Gotta get it done.

That, too.

23 pages so far today! My normal speed is more like 6.

My normal speed is single digits as well, until the end. My best one-day production was 23 pages, but my brain felt like a wrung-out washrag afterwards.

I think I have a mental block on how many I've done in a day...I know I did about 200 pages in a couple weeks, but I was wiped for a month afterward.

I don't know how [livejournal.com profile] rachelcaine does it--she regularly does 4-5,000 words a day....

Spending it going through the week's photo files. Would that be about the same thing?

I think anything not food or family-related counts.

Darn! Does a short story count? [Can I get away with that?--I had one drafted on the loong annoying drive from Kennedy Space Center back to Boca... I have perfect villains modelled on idiot drivers on I-95 South... ;-) ]

Nice clip above by the way--now, if you only finish the current book, you have something else to keep you busy :) Do you write two books simultaneously? I know people who do that but they have multiple series so they can write a book in either with no problem, whereas books in the same series being written simultaneously sounds a bit too challenging to me...

Happy Thanxgiving!

I find bad traffic inspiring, but if I ever acted on those inspirations, I'd get into such trouble...

I can't work on two things at the same time. I envy writers who can.

Glad you liked the clip, and Happy T-day to you, too, and to all who celebrate it!

Not this year. This year, I packed chapbooks. More of the same today, with the house already smelling like baking bird.
