When I think of "my music," I think of music made by artists who first became popular in the early to mid 70s, when I entered my teens. David Bowie's music is mine in a way that the Stones' or Beatles' music can never be.

Fleetwood Mac in on the tail end of this personal time of mine. So is Bruce Springsteen...who is adorning the cover of the September/October issue of the AARP magazine. Bruce is 60. Bowie is 62.

I don't even want to guess how old the members of Fleetwood Mac are.

Just hobbling along...

"My" music was never the popular music, though I quite liked some of the folk music of the early-mid Sixties and a few Beatles songs and thoroughly enjoyed some John Denver. But I also liked stuff that wasn't on any charts. The "wall of sound" type of music made me want to be far, far, far away from it, preferably where I could not hear that damned boring bass beat.

It's good that mileage varies--it keeps more kinds of music alive.

What I listen to had changed--with respect to rock/alternative/whatever the label is, I try to keep up with current stuff. My favorite music era is actually the 80s. Music from the 70s brings back memories of high school and college, but I greatly prefer bands and singers that came later.
