ksmithHawks lost to the Redwings 1-2 in OT. As many experts said they would, they lost it in 5.
I could argue that they lost Khabibulin and Havlat at the worst possible time, but more than that, I think, is the fact that they're still missing pieces. Things that I can't put my finger on haven't gelled yet. Maybe next year.
It was a hell of a run. No one expected it, except maybe for them.

Date: 2009-05-28 09:13 pm (UTC)The Redwings kicked it up a notch. Many notches. They reached into the special playoff pocket and pulled out that extra something. They barreled down the ice. The Hawks can't quite do that yet.
But in a year, more likely two, after they get a little more playoff experience...
