Hawks lost to the Redwings 1-2 in OT. As many experts said they would, they lost it in 5.

I could argue that they lost Khabibulin and Havlat at the worst possible time, but more than that, I think, is the fact that they're still missing pieces. Things that I can't put my finger on haven't gelled yet. Maybe next year.

It was a hell of a run. No one expected it, except maybe for them.

I'm a Sid the Kid fan, which doesn't necessarily translate to being a Pens fan. I will be able to watch the hockey without yelling at the set and scaring the dogs, methinks.

You and me both. Regular season, OK...maybe. But not in the playoffs.

Yeah. I remember when you contrasted the response of Boston fans with the Washington, that long standing ovation. I think "sudden death" accounts for most of the difference. Sudden death in Game Seven . . .

It was an outstanding series, very close despite the relatively quick ending. Another year or two to mature and add those pieces and the 'Hawks are going to be the scourge of the Central, if not the West entirely.

Weren't 3 of 5 games won in OT? It was...yeah.

The Redwings kicked it up a notch. Many notches. They reached into the special playoff pocket and pulled out that extra something. They barreled down the ice. The Hawks can't quite do that yet.

But in a year, more likely two, after they get a little more playoff experience...
