Apr. 2nd, 2009 08:04 pmMedical March has ended, and I have been pronounced OK. A couple of nuisance issues. A referral to a foot and ankle doc for my stupid feet. Glad I got it all done, but also glad it's over.
King, however, tested positive for Lyme. The thing is, he has been receiving Lyme vaccinations for the last few years. I will be taking him in tomorrow for a different blood test, as false positives are not unheard of with dogs that have been vaccinated.
If it turns out that King does have Lyme, it's likely that the vaccination at least weakened the infection and antibiotics should handle it. He has shown no signs of illness--the limp he had six weeks ago resolved in a few days, his appetite is good, and he shows no signs of malaise or fever. But the preference would be for a false positive. Keeping my fingers crossed.
