Messing with LJ again

This current layout is called Unearthed, with a color scheme entitled Unveiled Metal.

While the names are neat, I'll be glad when they update the previews to show color schemes so you can filter the list instead of having to convert your LJ to see what the colors actually are. I mean, Unveiled Metal implies hues of a metallic nature, but would you readily guess that Acrid Slide had a lot of lime green in it?

I would like to add some blue to this, and shrink the font size of the main title if possible. Otherwise it will do until I feel the urge to change yet again.

If you notice any viewing issues, let me know. My version of Opera has a sidebar that I can't figure out how to eliminate--add to that the sidebar on my website, and the LJ viewing window gets a little smooshed. Things looked better on the iBook with Safari. I have to say that I'm not altogether crazy about Opera, although I will most likely stick with it in the interest of virus avoidance.

Acrid Slide, no, actually it doesn't surprise me that it contains lime green.

No viewing issues here with Mozilla.

It's not just an accent color, but an eyeball-lancing pervasion. The idea that anyone might actually use it gives me pause.

I do like Unearthed. Just have to figure out a way to alter the used link color from PINK to something in the blue realm.

Where do you find Unearthed? When I go into manage styles, that one isn't there.

Never mind - I think I've figured out the answer. You must be using Style 2.

Yup, it's an S2 style.

I've always had a hard time navigating the S1/S2 option tree. Not all that intuitive.

I have also changed my avatar to reflect more closely my current hair color. Hope I can figure out a way to add highlights after I do the deed.

I managed to get rid of that sidebar in Opera. I'm not at home right now, but when I am, I'll try and figure out how I did it and let you know. :)

That would be great. Haven't clicked on the sidebar yet, so I'd say it's safe to erase.

Getting rid of the hotlist in Opera

Yank down the View menu. First thing on the list should be Hotlist. Put your mouse over it and a submenu pops out on the right, offering placement options, including OFF.

*Yes!*

Looking forward to icing that baby when I get home.

Well, *that* was frustrating.

I have Opera 7 point something, and the Hotlist option is not in View. The Hotlist option isn't where the Help page said it would be, either. I finally tapped on it (I have a touchpad, not a mouse), and it went away. Much more room now.

Oh, no!

I've got Opera 7.21 -- let me know if yours is later and I won't upgrade *g*

...glad you were able to disappear it, though.

My version is 7.53. I have a Win95 box, and some of the Java elements don't work--one part couldn't download, so Opera told me that the rest didn't either. According to my About Opera page, I don't have Java enabled, but I don't see how some of the sites I have visited would function if I didn't have it, so I don't know.

Not crazy about the Mail program. Can't find a "Mark All As Read" or a "Delete All Read" setting, which is the fastest way for me to clear out a mailbox. When I try highlighting all the messages and hitting Delete, only the topmost message and responses are deleted. The only way I have found to clean up a mailbox is press the Delete key and keep it depressed, wiping out the messages one by one.

Someone mentioned that they prefer Eudora to Opera Mail, but I don't know if I want to download yet another reader onto this thing.

IOW, not completely happy. I converted the skin from Opera to Windows, so it looks a little more familiar. I will probably stay withit, however, because the holes in IE worry me.
