Write scene in which protag has a peanut butter and jam sandwich and a glass of milk.

Ponder evening snack. Find oneself craving a peanut butter and jam sandwich and a glass of milk. Takes same.

I also yawn when I write about a character yawning. I yawn when I think about writing about a character yawning.

I yawn when I think about yawning.

But the all important question is: WHAT KIND OF JAM?

Either mixed berry or strawberry rhubarb. It wasn't the best of jams (it wasn't the worst of jams), so it was hard to tell which it was.

Curse you, now I want to write something that starts, "It was the best of jam, it was the worst of jam..."

"It was the bread of wheat, it was the bread of rye, it was crunchy peanut butter, it was smooth and creamy peanut butter, it was the Season of cold milk, it was the Time of hot chocolate, it was toasted, it was untoasted, we were all going to cut away the crusts, we were all going to leave the crusts alone--in short, the sandwich was so far like every other sandwich that those who would partake of it insisted upon its being received on a plate, to catch the drips."

*beams* Fabulous! Except, yanno, now I want a sandwich.

*sad eyes*

Yeaaaaah, I make that every year (except this one, that is, when I made No Jam At All, which sounds like a blues song, right?)

I made no jam
I made no jam at all
I made no jam
I made no jam at all
I look in my cupboard
I don't see no jam, no jam, no jam, no jam at all

My momma made jam
My grandmama made jam, too
But I didn't make no jam
And it's all because of you

I made no jam
etc...

Yup! We just need to work in how my baby left me, my hound dog ran off and my truck died, and we're set. *G*

It was a dark and stormy rye...

But if the book needed it ... (But, since I didn't go out and pet a polar bear for the current book, I guess I know where to draw the line.)

One of the next-book possibilities involves fencing, archery, and horseback riding. I could totally live with that. :-)

I took aikido when I was writing the Jani books. Wanted to learn how to fall, what it felt like to hit and get hit.

You know, that's a pretty good reason to try a martial art. Hmm ...

Do you recall what dojo you went to? (was it one of Toyoda-san's ?)

(I got back into Aikido after a 25 year lapse because my joints were hurting - now they don't, except when I'm Uke for a joint technique.)

I took the class at a local community college. I could have joined a dojo if I had wanted to go on, but my knees couldn't take the pounding.

I find myself grinning when my characters are extremely pleased about something, or my eyebrows shooting up when my characters are surprised or giving someone The Look. I've caught myself wrinkling my nose, rolling my shoulders, all sorts of things.

Which leads me to wonder-- who's leading whom here?!
