Shoes and pants are packed. Made ring of shoes around perimeter of hardshell case to allow for more depth for clothes.

U-wear? check
PJs? check (don't roll your eyes--I never remember the damned things until I have closed up the suitcase)
Socks and other foot stuff? check

I want to take the black velvet frock coat. I have never officially worn it--the buttons are still wrapped in tissue. But I don't want to smash the hell out of it.

I think I will encase it in a garbage bag, then fold it. That should prevent the worst of the creases.

So I've heard. But maybe it's an urban legend. I haven't tracked it down because I save dry cleaning bags for packing and I -know- they're fine.
