Shoes and pants are packed. Made ring of shoes around perimeter of hardshell case to allow for more depth for clothes.

U-wear? check
PJs? check (don't roll your eyes--I never remember the damned things until I have closed up the suitcase)
Socks and other foot stuff? check

I want to take the black velvet frock coat. I have never officially worn it--the buttons are still wrapped in tissue. But I don't want to smash the hell out of it.

I think I will encase it in a garbage bag, then fold it. That should prevent the worst of the creases.

If you can, use a leaf bag instead of a garbage bag, as I'm told the black, green and white ones have scent stuff impregnated in them so reduce the garbage smell. I save dry cleaning bags as they are ideal for packing things in, especially as I pack in layers, laying things out one after another and at the end folding in the ends so nothing gets a sharp crease.

Best of luck and enjoy!

Me, I'm already working on what to pack to WFC in Calgary in October.

And I thought, dang, I never buy leaf bags, just garbage bags. And then I checked. Yup, Leaf&Lawn Bags.

The scented kitchen bags that I've used before had a pretty obvious scent. Do even bags without a detectable smell have stuff in them?

So I've heard. But maybe it's an urban legend. I haven't tracked it down because I save dry cleaning bags for packing and I -know- they're fine.
