This n that
Jul. 28th, 2004 10:09 pmCut the lawn this evening. Then watered part of it to dissolve the fertilizer/weed snuffer so it could soak into the ground. Cut the grass/feed the grass. And I wonder why it grows so blinkin' fast.
Online shopping for the pups. Mickey has joint issues, I think--he's pretty stiff when he gets up in the morning, and sometimes you can hear his joints crack when he stands. He seems stiff when he runs, too--his body doesn't flatten out like King's does, and he looks a little "hoppy" as he moves. So I tracked down some glucosamine with vitamins that's made for larger dogs. One tab per 75 pounds means that I can give the Mickster one a day. This should prove easier to administer than my current tabs, of which I'm supposed to try to feed 4 a day to a dog Mick's size. He won't even eat one, and this dog eats just about everything. I can imagine how they taste. Hope the new tabs taste better.
Also bought nylabones, doggie septic tank enzyme and deodorizers, a ball, a collar for Mickey to replace the one King broke, and brewer's yeast. And shedding combs for King, whose undercoat is blowing rather late this year.
I'm a member of the REM fan club. I'm too old to be a member of any band's fan club, but there you go. I received an offer in the mail to register for an early shot at tickets for the upcoming tour, so I did. Don't know if they're coming to Chicago, but here's hoping. I saw U2 at the United Center a few years ago, a show that ranks as the best I've ever seen. REM is my other favorite Big band, and I'd like to see them live as well.

Date: 2004-08-07 02:57 pm (UTC)All this because I wanted to add to my first post that you might be interested in listening to a Neil Finn CD, because a fews years back he brought together some musician friends in New Zealand and put on a concert. A CD and DVD was made of the concert called "7 Worlds Collide". One of the friends was Johnny Marr.
Also, I think you have to be an XRT VIP member to enter the Austin contest(I didn't mention that before). It's easy to become a VIP.
Oh and yes, I look forward to the Jani book!
Thanks again.

Date: 2004-08-07 03:37 pm (UTC)After a few weeks with a free account, I switched to a paid account so I could have up to 15 avatars. This LJ thing starts to suck you in before you know it. But it can be fun. A timesink, but fun.
Thanks for the CD suggestion. I'm open to anything featuring Johnny Marr.
