As the snow melts

It doesn't have to be perfect.

I can fix it later.

But to do that, I need something to fix.

I'm a rewriter, not a writer.

Every phrase a jewel--we're not there yet, OK? Deal.

I can look it up later. Don't need to know Right This Second. Insert a comment and move on.

It would be nice to break a 1000 today, you know.

Sounds like we have a similar approach. Lots of blanks and I'll fix it later, honest!

I try not to leave blanks--they bother me. They need to be filled. So I use the almost-word, or the wrong word, and tag the thing with a Comment to remind me to go back and fix.

Sometimes, I even wind up keeping some things--they don't look as bad the second time through. But that first pass at putting everything down...sometimes it all looks bad.

Oh, yes. I've got 400 pages of it all looks bad on my desk right now.

My mother, who often reminds me that "a famous writer I know has told me you can't fix a blank page," thought this was a very funny post on your part. :)

I'm a rewriter, not a writer.

I hear you on that one!
