...nohyphen.net, by a score of 28-8 9.

I took [livejournal.com profile] slothman's advice and bought the additional domain names, so www.hyphen-name.com will redirect to www.nohyphen.net. Thanks to all for their comments. I confess I was surprised by the results. I didn't realize hyphens were considered such a hassle.

And once I get things settled, I will tell you what this is all about.

Sounds like you've come up with a good solution.

Speaking solely for myself, I can't touch type a hyphen, which is why I consider it a hassle.

I thought folks would prefer it because it breaks up first and last names and renders them easier to read, but I guess that doesn't bother the majority as much as I thought it would.

Yeah, I'm buying up domains like discounted handbags. Need to transfer the current one to SFFNet, where they all will be housed/managed/whatever the right term is. Thinking up redesigns. Must look around to see what all the Cool Kids are doing. I know many of them blog directly on their website and set up a feed to LJ, but I don't know if I'll go that route. I have a handy front page link that sends people here, and if they're really interested in keeping up, they can Friend or bookmark me.

I don't like the hyphens

I don't like the hyphens. I'd prefer three or four ^s, or maybe an entire line of ~. Just to keep life interesting.
