Ode to the Honey Locust

Honey locust in autumn
Leaves like gold coins
Slip between my rake prongs
Too small for the leaf blower
Hide between the leaves of grass
Fucking things are everywhere
Die, honey locust!
Lightning strike!
Infestation!
Whatever!
Die! Die! Die!

Mow 'em. Like rowan (mountain ash)leaves, they vanish.

The leaf bunches chop up, but the individual leaves seem to hang around forever.

The Eternal Leaf, by Kaygo. :-)

I view leaves as just one more step in grass evolution. If the grass can't handle a few leaves it deserves to die and let another species take its place. Something like...um... flagstones.

More than a few leaves. Will post a pic.

Few, shmew. Leave 'em to rot.

It's too late. Leaves to be gone.

Mow them. Mulch.

Happy dirt.

I remember the honey Locust as potentially a big tree. Is this sproutings from one cut down? Or simply a place where you do NOT want a tree?
