Well, in a few days, at any rate.

The Juliet has a bunch that’s getting close:

The Juliet are more orange than they look in the photo. I think I will wait another couple of days, then pick one and see how it tastes.

The Kellogg’s Breakfast has one big termater, and nothing else. But, it was behind the others when it came to blossoms, and would have been pollinating about the time the heat wave struck. Warm nights (>75F) interfere with the process–it’s possible I may not see any more tomatoes for a while. Lots of little Juliets and Crims, though, so barring critter onslaught I should have some tasty salads in August.

ENVY!!

I have a bunch of cherry tomatoes that are still resolutely green. I have some larger tomatoes that are still small and very pale green, but they are growing.

I planted late, so I more than half expect everything to mature in September or even October. I'm twitching to taste them!

If every bud on my tomatoes turns into fruit (and they're still flowering--new branches every day, from the Tomato Plants Of Unusual Size), I can feed everyone in Philadelphia, I think.

So far, I have a decent range of sizes. Hoping for steady ripening through September.

These plants seem short to me. I don't think they're even 4 ft tall, more likely closer to 3 ft. I'm used to having to stack cages atop one another. Not sure if I'll need to do that this year unless there's on hella growth spurt in August.

I wish I could grow some here, but we have too many critters that eat them. ;-(

I've already found holes dug in the lettuce section, but so far, fingers crossed, the critters are leaving the tomatoes and basil alone. Could be because Gaby spends a lot of time in the backyard--no squirrels or chipmunks when she's out there. I took down the kennel fencing that I had put up to keep King out of the raised bed, so now the bed is pretty open. Gaby could run through it, but so far she has left it alone.
