ksmith: (sadness)
A couple of months ago, I spotted a pair of Canadas wandering along the edge of the expressway I usually take on the way to work. It's a short stretch of expressway, but people do speed up once they turn onto it.

A couple of weeks ago, I was on the way to work when I spotted a spray of feathers on the road. It was one of the Canadas, killed by a car.

Now, most every day, I see the other Canada feeding or sitting by the side of the road. I know they supposedly mate for life, but it will find another goose to keep company with, won't it? Eventually?

It saddens me every time I see that poor thing.

Just checked the radar. Looks as though rain is a couple of hours away, maybe less.

Potting soil and herbs and flowers oh my! )

cookie update )

I'm tired. Pups were out with me while I worked--they're asleep. Now I wait for the rain.

One funny thing happened at the vet. King and Gaby pile into the lobby, and there encountered a gangly puppy--may have been an Amstaff. Much nose-sniffing ensued. As I tried to pull my two away, the tech showed up to take us to an exam room. She was surprised to see Gaby, who wasn't scheduled for anything. I said that it was just for moral support, and tried to lead Gaby after King into the room. But Gaby planted and wouldn't come no matter how I pulled. That cracked up the puppy's owners. "That's moral support," the guy said.

Gaby followed eventually. They were both good puppies.

Just watched the New Doctor.

I like him a lot.

I like Amelia, too.
