  • 17:17:37: @cmpriest Congratulations!!
  • 18:41:14: @karinlow The recipe I made yesterday is pretty quick 'n' easy.
  • 19:53:10: @dpeterfreund isn't that always the way?
  • 21:12:38: Head is pounding and ears are popping. Not having fun with the weather change thing.
  • 21:13:38: @patinagle the beach, he would love. the convalescent thing, not so much
  • 21:14:00: @ConneryBeagle I think so too, Connery. And so does Gaby!
  • 21:14:52: @karinlow they're nice and chewy. If you make them, enjoy!
  • 21:20:34: Managed to break a lamp today. Not shatter break. It just won't turn on anymore. Dropped it just right. Blasted thing.
  • 22:56:28: @emoontx Love lamb chops. I usually broil them, but a good sear no doubt does the job...
  • 22:58:39: @emoontx the back of my neck makes crackly sounds when I move my head. and I think my decongestant is waaay out of date...
  • 23:41:48: @emoontx i'll see in the morning. it may have been as simple as messing up the light bulb filaments. a new bulb would be an easy fix

Guess who chewed off his bandage during the night?

No, I did not use the Collar. King had shown zippo interest in his leg for the whole of the evening. I had sprayed the area with Fooey just to make sure.

He ate the special, bad-tasting stretchy wrap.

It's currently snowing--did I mention that? 2-3 inches of mush expected. I had run all my errands yesterday just so I would not have to go out today.

He's snoring now. His work is done.

Just back from the vet's. Despite efforts to make the bandages taste as bad
as possible, King kept licking them to the point that he gave himself a case
of moisture dermatitis on the skin beneath. Luckily, the irritation isn't
around the stitches, which are pretty well healed. So, no more bandage. I
have a steroid/antibiotic spray for the dermatitis. I just need to keep him
from licking the sore spot. Hoping that with the bandage gone, the area will
dry out and stop itching.

Monday, the sutures come out. Thanks be.

The weather is demoralizing. An inch, inch and a half of very wet snow. At
least the roads were warm enough that the stuff melted as it hit.

Gaby is thrilled with the snow, of course. She dashed around like a mad thing in between bouts of snow eating and wow-snow-let-me-push-my-nose-through-it-and-flip-it-up-in-the-air.

They've both eaten breakfast, and are now sleeping the sleep of the utterly innocent.
