ksmith: (gimme a break)
Panels: Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics--a talk, complete with Powerpoint slides, by Michael Flynn, about interpreting statistics in newspapers and such. It included this video, which I guess is something of a classic in illustrating how we usually only notice things that are important to us.

I then went to a writing business panel, John Scalzi and others discussing making a living on the non-fiction side of writing. I then met [livejournal.com profile] kateelliott for coffee, and had a good time talking about working out and wips and business and such. Then it was on to the hotel, where I dumped stuff in the room, then met Tom and Jan Hise for dinner. German restaurant, so I had sauerbraten with spatzle and red cabbage. Good stuff.

Came back to room. Talked with [livejournal.com profile] e_moon60 for too long. Fell asleep. Up again around 6ish. Will have lunch with folks at 11. No panels, probably. The ones that interest me are opposite various appointments.

Need more sleep.
