My advice? Stop projecting. If *you* feel blogging interferes with *your* production, ease off or stop. If it has no effect, or if you feel it helps you, keep it up. Because if you stop, I won't have anything to read.

I think posting about the wip, the 70 days thing, and process in general is helping me get going. I like seeing what my friends are up to. I live in a small town with no writers within shouting distance. LJ has been a godsend in that regard.

But I draw the line at reading blogs by writers who believe Hence Me, Therefore Thee.

This morning, I finished a day job task that I really, really dislike. I'd known for several days that it needed doing, but I kept putting it off and putting it off until I realized I was meeting with my manager this afternoon expressly to go over said task. So, I completed it with a few hours to spare. Felt so pleased.

I do this a lot with deadlines--I've bemoaned the fact before. It occurred to me after I finished the day job thing, though, that I may be doing it on purpose. I *like* the feeling of feeling pleased, the sensation of the lifted weight. And the closer to the deadline a project moves, the heavier the weight, and the better it feels when--

You see where this is going? Whether as a spur for creativity, or because it feels so good when it stops, I go out of my way to get myself into these pressing situations. Even if it's not that onerous a project. Even when I know that if I just got down and did it, it would be over in an hour and I could move on.

I got my tax stuff to the CPA early this year, and mailed off the completed returns to the revenooers a few days ago. That felt *really* good. Every time I see an ad for tax services, I can say to myself, Done.

I am hoping that the realization that Early can feel as good as OMG! Gonna Be Late! will compel lizard brain to--forgive the metaphor homogenation--change its spots.

Signs of Spring!

1) Robin sightings!
2) My eyes and throat itch! Allergies!
3) Muddy puppy paws!

No love form the latest SFBC review of the Code/Rules/Law omnibus. I am not a goddess in this reader's pantheon. He expected a story with a female protag written by a female author to be a gripping read. He was ungripped. He hopes my storytelling improves, though, because I apparently have an interesting interpersonal relationship style for my character's interactions.

Some time ago, someone directed me to a link to some Javascript--or something--that converted white text on black background to black text on white. I lost that link when my iBook went kablooey, and I haven't been able to find it again. Does anyone know where to find something similar?

Because I am not going to try to read websites with white text on black. After a minute, my eyes start vibrating.

UPDATE: FOUND IT!!!! Merciful Zeus.

Look for the "zap colors" script. For a Mac, Cntrol-mouse click should give you the option to add it to your Bookmarks folder. I added mine to the menu bar.
