Even though my leave doesn't officially start until next week, I thought I'd start this week with the Big Push. My goal is 5 pages/1250 words a day. I will need to do better than that eventually, but we're going to start slow.

Yesterday's total was 1297 words. One dawdled and dicked about until after midnight, and thus technically did not meet one's promised output of 5 pages/1250 words. But one is still insisting one hit one's mark, and the hell with it.

And today I get to hit the reset button and start all over again.

it is not easy to be Jani's friend. I'm just saying.

One of my senators has one. Then there's something called ALL IN THE MIND, about the workings of the brain. NASA Astrobiology Magazine. Jim Lehrer News. New Scientist. And best of all, something called THE BIG THRILL that features interviews with authors of thrillers as well as excerpts from their book. Last night, I listened to a very interesting interview with author Gayle Lynds during which she discusses her process and the expectations thriller readers have and other things. Really good.
