The wandering minstrel sleeps

Sitting in a Candlewood Suites suite outside Louisville KY. Feet up. Typing.

It's been a day of firsts. First return trip from Charlottesville VA. First speeding ticket, received about an hour outside C'ville, for doing 80 in a 65.

I took my meds like a good girl. I know it would have done no good to say that people were passing me on this particular stretch of road, including one girl from Ohio who must have been averaging 90. The officer told me that he clocked me on a level stretch of road--I wish I could recall whether it was at the bottom of a hill. Do you know how hilly it is outside C'ville?

I know--shut up, Kris.

My court date is May 4, but I am of course able to pay the fine by mail or over the telephone. I'm surprised they don't yet have an e-pay system in place.

Stopped at a Burger King at a rest stop in WV, and ordered a Big Kid's meal because Whoppers are just too big. Got a superhero scooter toy I can't identify. Drove the speed limit all the way to Louisville. Moral of the story--it takes longer.

Logged on here in the suite to find my very first fan email from a priest. He enjoyed CI, and found a misspelling in one of the blurbs.

With luck and good roads, I will be home several hours at this time tomorrow.
