Weekly World News

I read the headlines in the grocery checkout line. That's all. I swear.

In any case, this week's front page story covers a haunted dollhouse. The ghosts were exorcised by a male action figure dressed as a priest.

I don't normally even scan the headlines, but a few weeks ago I could not miss the one screaming: Ten New Commandments Revealed!

Hot dog!

I think my favorite is the guy who found a mermaid in his can of tuna fish. The cover photo was a poorly-doctored image of a guy holding a tiny mermaid by the tail.

ROFL! Gotta love the Weekly World News. My favorite story was from several years ago about a woman whose mink coat was haunted and it ran away from her. *g*

Now see, if I were smart enough to write stuff like this as short stories I'd be selling to F&SF right and left. Or at least ASIM. :D

Esther Friesner could corner this market.
