All this time, I'd been pronouncing it "mem". Forget the fact that it looks like "heme", which I've always pronounced "heem". To me, it was "mem". Even now that I know better, I still want to say "mem".
At least I never pronounced it "memie". As in, oh no, not another screamin' meme!
So, anyone else have any blocks when it comes to certain words? Spelling or pronunciation, doesn't matter.

Date: 2005-08-20 02:11 am (UTC)I used to get stuck on the word "weapon" during my comic book reading phase, ages 4-6. I sounded it out as "wee-pon". That pronunciation is still stuck in my head.
