Why I'll never be able to retire, Reason #43

Handbags. Kate Spade handbags. Deep cherry red. With puppies on them.

Does the discounted eBay price count for nothing, she asked?

Weak! declaimed the chorus. Self-indulgent! Immediate gratificationist!

Bugger, she mumbled.

Heh. I'm sorry, ducky, but as long as you have a handbag jones, you're stuck in the rat race.

*sigh* At least they're cheaper than luggage.

*sheepishly holds up a couple of Kate Spade handbags* How could you resist?

Unfortunately, I may be the only one on your friendslist who thinks you did a wonderful thing. *covets*

I appreciate knowing this, I really do. I Am Not Alone.

I never should have done the semi-regular eBay reconnoiter. I had just done Prada, which was comfortably beyond reach. But I love Kate's colors--I have a hot pink Travis bag already--and well, I am a bit of a dog person. I just should have looked a little longer, because as soon as I Bought It Now, I found that I could have saved $20 with another seller.

After I bought, it was off to Bluefly to see if they had it cheaper--why I do this to myself, I'll never know. Found matching cosmetic/doohickey bags, and, well, bought one.

It was that blasted doggie face that did it. So much like a Thurber hound...

Weak? Weak is to collect ones you don't feel passionately about, just because of the name. Great bags you love are never a weakness!

The red color is truly lovely, the deepest, richest cherry you've ever seen.

And as I said before, there was this doggie. There's another image on the side of the bag, in which s/he's curled up on a doggie bed.

If Mickey and King approve, who are we to gainsay?

Mickey sniffed it and pronounced approval.

I didn't let King near it because, well, he tends to push his nose into things and root around.
