One More Detour on the Writing Road

The final movement of Ned Rorem's String Symphony will wake King up from his nap and make him bark. Made me want to bark, too. Modern stuff. Not a fave.

Tried one of the BPAL imps that windrose sent. The Scales of Deprivation. One of the reviewers referred to it as "gloomy lavender", and I would concur. Smoky but clean. I can't identify which scent note is which. I would say that it seems to deepen over time, and I like it.

Massage later this morning. I need it. I have been trying to work out a couple of days a week, but even so all this sitting has not been good for my back. A better chair is on the shopping list, along with a new living room couch.

Received BPAL booty from windrose. I have not tried the imps yet, but did try The Buggre Alle This Bible, available on the Good Omens page.

It's interesting. I do like it. If you walked into a used bookstore that had been located for about twenty years between a tobacconist and a head shop/someplace that has sold incense and oils, you might get an idea of what it smells like. It only lasted 3-4 hours as a strong, definable scent, but I don't know if that's usual for BPAL scents. I also didn't put that much on, which may have had something to do with it.

Everyone...well, some folks on my flist...talk about BPAL scents.

I saw the list of available scents, and thought "Oh dear--where to start?" Turns out they have a Good Omens page--I may give a couple of these a try. Given that my preference runs toward light airy perfumes like Wensleydale ("An immaculately clean scent: well-scrubbed soapy skin and fresh cotton."), I may have a hard time finding scents I like, but I will give them a try.

I have to try Crowley (Infernal musk, red patchouli, lilac cologne, mahogany, lemon rind, oakmoss, leather, and vanilla husk. ), no matter what, because on the list of Fictional Characters on Whom I Nurse Violent Crushes, Crowley ranks in the Top 5.
