Since it’s Shoot the Moon Sunday–new holiday I just made up–I will mention that GIDEON by Alex Gordon is eligible for consideration for the 2016 World Fantasy Award ballot.

This is the first time I have ever mentioned that a work of mine was eligible for consideration. It likely won’t be the last, either, so.

Because I've seen it crop up on other lists, it's time to post here.

...there is a requirement that books nominated for the PKD see their North American release in the year of the award. For this year's award--the 2008 award--that means that the books need to have come out in 2008.

ENDGAME came out in November 2007.

I don't know how the judges wound up getting the book, but once I realized what had happened, I let someone know, and they let someone know.

I am disappointed because I like this book a lot, and because it was the last book in a middlin' series that came out about three years late...well, I was glad to see it get some attention. And I was very happy that fellow pros thought it worthy of nomination. But rules is rules.

And so it goes.
