A day. Began cloudy, but cleared to the point that blue sky actually became visible. Always a good thing.
Shopped--bought hot cross buns, steaks for tomorrow. Mailed off the tax returns--yea. Took the guys to the vet for theit annuals. King is *gasp* 120! pounds, which is staggering since he appears thinner to me now than he did last year, when he was 107. He's not even that overweight--the tech thought he looked fine, but the vet felt he could lose a few pounds. The thing is, his appearance has changed over the last year or so. When he was younger, he had a field Lab look about him--spindly legs, slim, short-haired body. Now he's filled out to the point that he looks like Prince, our long-ago shepherd-Lab mix--stocky, wider head, heavier coat. People see him and think, God, he's *huge*. A man in the vet lobby asked me his name, and when I said "King," he replied "He looks like a King." He's a beautiful dog, but I can't get over his change in appearance over time. He's still a hyper puppy to me.
Mickey weighs in at 94, and he could definitely lose a few. Some of this may simply be winter weight, but much of this is due to the fact that he's a couch potato/con artist. Things have got to change. The next few months could prove a disappointment to the Mickelator.
Spent some time cleaning the office. Carted the 2004 records to basement storage. Filed outstanding 2005 stuff. Still some catalogs and stuff to pick through, but overall it's not horrendous.

Date: 2005-03-27 02:42 am (UTC)I'm so glad they're done.
I've decided to try a new filing strategy for the writing stuff--I'm going to file by category rather than month. That way, all the subscriptions, convention receipts, book bills, etc will be sorted out before I start the talley.
The CPA thinks I can do the home office deduction next year, which means all the house stuff gets added to the mix. I really need to learn how to track expenses in Quicken...
