Scenes on the edge of a summer night

Dragonflies.

Fireflies.

A hawk gliding low and silent, chased by two smaller, screeching birds.

A bat, a little egg with stubby wings that I have christened "Errol." Could be one bat, or more than one. I see only one at a time, so however many there are, they're all Errol.

In the night, all bats are Errol.

Dusk is a favorite time. I don't like the apparent rise in temp that occurs around the time the sun actually sets, but once it goes below the horizon, the coolness returns and the night things emerge.
