Not the most in-depth cleaning in the world--that would involve applying Murphy's Oil Soap to the woodwork, etc--but the book chair is relocated to the basement, along with a number of books. Nightstand is bookless, as is the top of the armoire. I did, however, relocate the Thurber Dog bookends to the top of the bookcase, thus creating another shelf. At least it's only partially filled.
Dusting and vacuuming were committed.
Finally, I sorted shoes. Filled a small laundry basket with ones I no longer wear--mostly running shoes that have lost their cushioning to the point that they're pain-inducing. The space under the bed is space again, and the shoes that had been there are now ensconced in the closet shoe racks.
I think that means it's dinner time.
