I thought the whole thing was kind of a hot mess. I didn't think the two halves went together too well--depressing is a good description. Discordant. I know they were following the original Frankenstein tale (the movies, not the book) somewhat, and iirc both the Dr. and creature die. But the mood veered from lighthearted and racy to glum, and the cannibalism scene was just plain gross. Very much a false note.
But I liked the songs. I should get the soundtrack and bag the movie.
I tend to watch just until the Eddie out of the freezer scene at most. But I like the songs. And the actors. Love how Tim Curry made Dr. Frank innocent and lascivious at the same time, at least when he comes down that elevator.
I once did a cover for an APA issue that took the Princess Leia with Vader and the floating torture machine entering her cell on the Death Star, but replaced Vader with Dr. Frank. It was well received...

Date: 2011-06-11 12:57 am (UTC)I remember reading about Little Nell (Nell Campbell) as one of the NYC club hostesses. I don't remember if this was before or after Rocky Horror.
Heh. Would have liked to have seen that cover.
