Just learned about this the other day--allow me to repeat the concerns of others and ask that if you've friended me and use this service, to please unfriend me.

I don't often lock posts, but when I do, I do it for a reason. I've tried to get into the habit of *not* posting sensitive info, but Stuff Happens.

I haven't heard of this - is it a service or something? Could you post a link? Understood you don't want friends networking you through - but without more information, how would one know? Thanks!

www.frienditto.com

Hmm...news has been whipping 'round the place that the site has been hacked and is now non compos mentis. Judging from the comment concerning legal issues on the homepage, I'd say something happened.

You can check if anyone has put any of your entries up on frienditto here. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/ditto_cop/) I checked my ID and I haven't got anything there. I mean, I don't usually put very important stuff in my locked posts myself, but I wouldn't want them publicly accessible either. Luckily, I so far have a small number of "friends" in lj-land, most (but not all) of them being mutual-friends (ie I friend them, they friend me back) and I do personally know at least a couple of them in real-life, so I don't think I am that exposed, but you never know.

Have you tried going to their site lately? I think it's only a matter of time til they're gone for good. They're asking for donations because their site is being accessed so much they can't afford the bandwidth, and they've got legal issues. Too funny. And too bad, cause you can't find out what they're about. Their site is one little page asking for money. :)
