Too much to do, both at home and at work.

I roughed out my taxes a couple of weeks ago, then decided that some things were bothersome enough that I wanted a pro to look things over. So, I asked around about accountants, and found one thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dancinghorse. Got in touch--yes, by gum, accountant in question does work with out-of-state clients! Received his tax organizer packet last week, which means slogging through all the numbers again and assembling them in a way a stranger can understand. Excel spreadsheets, here we come!

Had a bad cold last week that knocked me for a loop. That, combined with sheer bloody-mindedness, meant that I didn't get a lot of writing done this last week. I did rough out about 5 chapters, which isn't as grand as it sounds--I know which POV follows which, and the chain of events leading to the Big Event that drives the book to its conclusion. Now all I have to do it write things down in complete sentences.

After yet another period of thaw, it's cold and snowy again. Beneath the crust of icy snow, the backyard is roughly the consistency of French Silk Pie--solid enough in the cold but likely to turn gloppy and run when warmed. Not looking forward to the mud situation when the thaw begins for good. It's the dogs, you know. 2 muddy, clueless dogs, and no mudroom to hose them down in.

My next house is going to have a mudroom, so help me.

The day job is nuts. Guitar lessons are fun--we're edging ever so slowly into learning to play lead, which is a little exciting but kind of amusing. Johnny Winter has nothing to fear.

Oh...::envy::

But then, I'd have benn wrapped up a couple of weeks ago too if I hadn't decided to go with a pro. But too much has changed this past year and I want a blessing over some of the stuff. So, I wade through the tax organizer...

Heh.

One of the nice things about not acting my age is my taxes.

Got my refund. Spent my refund. Now working on regenerating my refund so I can spend it on something else ($200 rebate + selling old camera for $150[1])

[1] Was playing camera comparison with the chefs at Ebisu and got three offers. Two of them were even for the camera I want to sell. ;)

I definitely have plans for my refund--doggie vet bills and whatnot.
