...that you can download a CD into your iTunes Library, then go to Advanced/CD Track Names, highlight the tunes and before you know it, track names and artists and name of album are all loaded from the magic iTunes Really Big Library?

These spiff new tech is al too much for me.

I didn't explain well. What I meant was that you can transfer your own CD to your Mac, and then enter the track names/artist(s)/etc via iTunes. I loaded the Trainspotting 2 soundtrack, and couldn't figure out a way to label the tracks. But iTunes did it for me--I selected the tracks, then went to Advanced/Get CD Track Names. No money spent.

Not for this particular function anyway.

Oh, that's a nifty feature alright, and you say it is free? That is really useful, I agree.

This is wise, because a song I had not heard before this day is now one of my favorites--Gimme Danger by Iggy and the Stooges I was 15 when it first came out just call me slow--and there are more of them out there, I know it.

but I just had to coment to say My GOD I LOVE your icon.

I want to look like Chrissie. I want to play guitar like Chrissie. And I think she's older than I am, which when you think about it is really, really cool.

I surfed for images. Found this one. I loves it, yes I does.

Unless she plays bass, in which case...I want to play guitar and look like Chrissie.

Funny that while I like a few Pretenders songs, I'm not the biggest fan. But I like Chrissie.

And now I've checked. She plays guitar, and she's seven years older than I am.

Some of the linux based free music players do this too. I discovered that SoundJuicer, the CD-ripper that ubuntu linux installs as the default merrily reads the cd and checks for track names and *gets it right*. I thought it was awesome. 'course, it's not as pretty and sexy as itunes, but I'll take getting all the songs in Pacific Overtures right any day *g*.

I think I mentioned before that I didn't intend to use iTunes at all until I got DSL. It is nice, although I wish they made it more obvious about how to download the CD artwork, which is something they've started allowing recently. A minor quibble at best, I know.

I'm still adjusting to downloading music in general. I'm amazed at how well it sounds.
