Yeah, it is. How quickly it flies.

Working. Stumbled over whether the "d" in cheese danish should be capitalized or not, and found this blog entry during my search.

Does it matter? Should it be "danish" or "Danish" ? It's in the book about five times. I'm almost tempted to make it an apple turnover and just forget about the issue altogether.

It's not as funny as the never to be forgotten "statuesque noses" post from [livejournal.com profile] cranky_editors, but it just struck me funny.

As for the danish, I will stick with a small "d".

If the danish was, in fact, from Denmark, then I'd think it would be clear(er)... a Danish danish makes more sense than a Danish Danish, no?

Denmarkian. There, a new term just for this.

A Denmarkian Danish.

It's the same thing with French fry and French doors. I've seen French both capitalized and not.

*laughs* I'd probably have given up and called it an apple turnover, too :)

I stuck with small "d" danish and left it at that. Then I ate the last cookie because the whole process made me hungry.

That is exactly the sort of thing where it's okay to say, "Eh, the copyeditor will figure this out."

For the record, I'd go with lowercase d.

Lowercase looked better, so I went with it.
