Whistling past graveyards

Not too long ago--2 weeks?--the Blackhawks were 11th in the Western Conference and out of the playoff race.

Tonight, they beat Carolina 5-2 for their 7th straight win. Last 11 games, they're 8-1-2. Oh, and they're now in 4th place in the West.

Anything can happen, and a slot in the playoffs is far from assured. But it's nice to see the Hawks playing like the Hawks again.

The Bruins seem to have found a way to score goals.

They've won 7 in a row and are 2nd in the East. They're in a better position than are my crew. A couple of losses or ties, and it's the bottom of the pile again.
