Temps hit the mid-50s (F) today. At least one temperature record was broken. There's still some snow remaining--a *lot* of snow, in some places--but there are also significant patches of bare ground and winter-brown lawn now visible.

Oy, the mud. I'd like to hook the pups to bags and catheters for the next few days.

I saw a robin today, too. I know that some of them don't bother to fly south anymore, but I haven't seen any in months and it's a robin, dammit. It means spring is slowly, slowly getting its act together. My tomato and pepper seeds arrived the other day. It's getting there.

I realize it's only mid-February. Hell, daytime temps are supposed to fall back down to the 30s by early next week, and we usually have a significant snow event in March. This mild stretch could turn out to be a cruel joke, but I'm not thinking about that now.

Thanks for the info. I didn't realize they migrated in "layers." I assumed the whole vast lot of them wound up in one place.

So I'm probably not looking at returnees yet. Oh well...
