As in "we are under".

A little bit of snow tonight into tomorrow. Then Tuesday afternoon/evening into Wednesday, the sky falls down. Anywhere from 12-24+ inches snow predicted, with sustained winds of 30-40 mph. The NWS used the term "life-threatening conditions" when discussing the possibilities.

There's always a chance things could shift, which would mean less snow. But so far, no sign of shiftage.

I'm planning to work from home Wednesday. Arranged with the lawncare guys to do the driveway, which means I just need to worry about the roof. I have a basic one-floor ranch-style peak on both the garage and house. Both roofs have newer shingles and are about half newer wood. I would not expect trouble, she said hopefully, but we haven't had this much snow predicted since 1999. I will probably bring the roof rake thingie up on the deck, just in case. If we get much more than a foot, I'll be using it.

I just don't want the power to go out. I have enough firewood for a day, maybe, and I'm not too concerned about getting cold. I just hate it when the power is out.

We're getting cold weather (for us), too. Mid 20's with wind chill in the teens. No snow predicted, but we could get busted pipes.

Stay safe and warm!

At 8:57 this morning, my office sent out a memo that the building would be closed as of noon tomorrow and would reopen at 10:00 AM on Wednesday to ensure employees could beat the worst of the storm home tomorrow and have time to get in safely on Wednesday. If the storm is too bad, people can work from home on Wednesday.

I informed my wife, who responded, "Well, your company cares about you."

Fingers crossed that pipe worries aren't an issue. My concerns are 1) power going out, and 2) weight of snow on the roof

My company didn't close during the Storm of 1979, according to the old timers.

I know that some systems need to run 365 no matter what.

My immediate area is allowing folks to work 4 10-hour days this week in order to take Wednesday off. This solved the problem for folks who can't work from home.

How this is being handled is very manager-dependent.

Just talked to the brother -- Griffith IN has 2' of snow with more on the way. Oy. Stay warm and safe!

Is that in the Snow Belt? They've been getting pounded this winter.

The wind is honking. I can hear small branches bouncing off the roof.

Hope it isn't as bad as predicted.
