W-S Butter pecan quick bread in the oven. Blackhawks on mute--SOBs better win. Dinner has been had--the soup came out well, though I think I overdid it on the parsnips. They overwhelmed the squash.

Still, easy way to get my daily veggies.

Dr Who last night on WMVS, Part 1 of The Library, or whatever the title is. It rivals "Blink" as my favorite episode. I love River Song.

Back to work. Vacation day tomorrow, so I can pretend this is Saturday night.

"Silence in the Library" is part one; "Forest of the Dead" is part two. Those two and "Blink" are in my Top 5 New Who episodes. (The others would be "The Empty Child" and "The Doctor Dances" for Nine, and "Vincent & the Doctor" for Eleven.)

How are the 'Hawks doing this season? The Sharks have been iffy. They lost six games in a row before winning one last night. We'll see if they can translate that into a winning streak; consistency has not been their strong suit this season.

Yes, The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances are my faves as well.

The Hawks are middlin' this year. They are in the playoff hunt so far, but they're only 7 or so games above .500, and they're inconsistent as hell. They remind me of the '07 team that missed the playoffs. Most of the ingredients may be there, but things aren't jelling yet. The personnel losses they sustained thanks to the salary cap kicked their asses. They also may still be suffering repercussions from the GM Tallon salary cap screw-ups that almost cost them a few star players.

It wouldn't surprise me if they missed the playoffs.
