Winter storm to soak city Saturday then generate jarring plunge into arctic cold, high winds and accumulating snow; storm watches hoisted.

We could wind up with a few inches, depending on the storm's path. It's that plunge into arctic cold that I'm dreading.

We're supposed to get that one Sunday into Monday, 2" to 3" of rain, flood and high wind watches already up.

Then cold.

Warm enough here for me to be thinking of a cold drink rather than a warm one...although a hot chocolate with the nut liquor sounds really enticing.

I think rain and cold is the worst combo. The chill seeps through whatever you're wearing and right into your bones.

Snow is over a foot right now and winds howling. Should be -30F windchills tomorrow with air temp maybe up to 0.

Raining hard here. I don't think it is supposed to kick over to snow until after midnight.
