I set up a nightly autosave of my wip/research file and personal settings to iDisk via Backup. Every night at 730, the little brollie shows up in the Dock, and the files are saved. I like that.
Great! Now be super paranoid and do a restore of your WIP file just to make sure it's all doing what's it supposed to be doing. (Normally, I wouldn't suggest this but Backup uses some sort of proprietary database format so you can't just look on your iDisk to check.)
It offers two options--restore over your existing file, and restore in a different place. I restored today's backup of my wip file--the most important file, the actual wip, looks fine. Formatting and everything. It's an exact copy of the MacWord file.
I wondered why I couldn't find the files when I logged into my MobileMe account. I could find files that I had manually saved to my iDisk account, but it's apparently a different iDisk than the one affiliated with Backup. No matter. Have backups. That's really nice.
Great! I'm so pleased it's all working and I'm sure you feel much better now knowing you're all backed up now. Nothing like a near miss to make you appreciate a good backup. :)
