Short form--Gaby's fine (fingers crossed). Just saw her dash across the backyard after something. A squirrel, most likely.

Let her outside early this morning, 6ish. Let her back in, and noticed she was acting oddly--restless, couldn't sit down or lie down. Very anxious. Wouldn't leave my side. She didn't vomit. After a half hour or so, she finally settled a bit. Drank some water. Ate a duck heart (her treats are dehydrated duck hearts). This was good, because at that point, I was concerned about bloat, GI upset, or an obstruction or blockage. Her gut is so small that it wouldn't take much.

I took Gaby to the vet's office first thing. Vet checked her anal glands first in case they were full enough to cause discomfort, a problem with IBD dogs. Nope, they were fine. So, x-ray, which revealed a half-inch long bone fragment traveling through Gaby's gut, headed for the exit. Vet gave her an enema to help it along. Bone fragment was expelled, but there are a few smaller bits remaining that need to work their way out. Gaby's on sucralfate for a week--that coats her tract and eases irritation. I am to add a little canned pumpkin to her food to push things along. She actually ate breakfast and lunch w/ pumpkin, which surprised me as she usually doesn't like strange food. Unless it's the dirt under the bird feeder or something equally interesting.

Anyway, she's been behaving normally since we got home. Slept on the couch and under my feet. Ate. Chased things.

I found some old bones, one of which may have contributed to the issue. They have been trashed.

As all this was going on, I realized I lost a set of house keys. I have an extra set, but still. They should be around here somewhere because I used them yesterday, and didn't go anywhere. I checked the garbage. Hunted around the lawn. Checked purses and pockets. No effing clue.

IOW, it's Monday.

Coat pocket? If not, what'd you do after you used them yesterday? Maybe you absentmindedly carried them with you somewhere instead of setting them down in their usual place. This happens to me all the time when I come in with lots of bags, I can't put them in their dish by the door so they end up lost on the couch or in my totebag.

Thing is, I didn't wear a jacket when I went out to the garage yesterday, my shirt didn't have any pockets, and the pants pockets had snaps and I didn't use them. I am pretty sure I put the keys down somewhere, and they slipped down amid some junk.

The funny thing is, while I was hunting for the keys in the garage, I found some other stuff--mailbox repair kit, old puppy brushes--that I had lost earlier in the summer. So I am guessing that one day soon, when I'm looking for something else, I will find the keys.
