Trouble already

No willpower, combined with the thrill of new toys.

Installed DSL yesterday. Since then, I have found iTunes. First, I confined myself to downloading a few individual tracks that I've wanted for years, then to my detriment, I searched around. Found a Belle & Sebastian album from late 2003 that I didn't know about, and listened to enough snippage from the Franz Ferdinand to know that I'd probably like it. Bought. Downloaded. Burned onto CD for backup. Listening to FF CD now--I'm amazed at how good it sounds.

The things I'm capable of doing with a desktop amaze me.

None of this, of course, has anything to do with writing books.

I'm the sort who is way, way too unfocused and disorganized to make appointment-TV a doable thing for me; broadband internet and a file-sharing program actually allowed me to watch shows I knew I'd like but could never find the time for. Best thing for it, short of a TiVo.

You can get TV shows via this thing?!?

Well and truly doomed, yes.

Mmmm yep. Me myself I don't go for anything available on DVD, as I don't want to stray too far into questions of fair use and all that (as it's not like iTunes where you can actually buy the stuff), but yeah. Right now I mostly search for as-yet-unreleased copies of Mystery Science Theater 3000.
