The marital aids arrived today. I bought the "wolf" size (5-6 inches) for Gaby, and the "souper" size (7-8 inches) for King. Unpacked them both at the same time, and gave the smaller one to Gaby. Tried to give the smaller one to Gaby. She looked at it, then fixed on larger one. Damned thing weighs as much as she does, but I gave it to her. She lying on the floor with it and barking in between chews.

King took the smaller one quite happily. Guess size doesn't matter anymore to the old guy.

Oh wait--now they just traded. King is chewing on the Souper. Gaby has the Wolf, and is still barking. She's trying to figure out a way to get both bones. She is a greedy little thing.

It is a good sign that she's chewing, because she turned down lunch--chewing a bone means she isn't nauseated. Granted, she ate breakfast four hours ago, and had just come in from outside and it is a hot one today, 85F in the shade. Gaby does not like the heat at all, and it will affect some dogs' appetites. As long as she stays bouncy and doesn't upchuck or anything, I won't worry. Much.

About those bones...there was a lot of claptrap on the package about Galileo's calculations of stress on bones and how these folks took his methods to heart when they designed this chew toy. Nah. Someone at the toy company was just playing Silly Buggers. They must have laughed for a week.

Snork. I don't like the idea of those little "shavings" though for your alternative titling.

I'm not crazy about the shavings, either. But when they chew bones, they crack them and swallow the chips. King will still munch on wood every so often. They're always swallowing stuff, and as long as it's inert...

Glad I wasn't drinking anything when the Petco site opened up. Those look like they'd be a definite g-spot/prostate friendly device. Too funny. May have to have one delivered to my Fundy sister's kid's dog, just to see her expression. Thinking about it, never mind, she wouldn't see what I found so amusing.

Yanno, I think the reason they put that long involved explanation about the shape on the packaging was because many people who would look at the thing would wonder WTF? Problem is, that explanation is the equivalent of "I have a wide stance". A bunch of words that fail to mitigate the obvious.
