My heart isn't in it anymore. They have a new owner now, which is good, but they need a new manager and they need to clean out the clubhouse. Why weren't they in the running for players like Halladay? Why can't they get guys like that in their prime, instead of waiting until their careers have one foot in the grave?
I'll watch a baseball game as background, but something inside me broke.
I've managed to avoid emotional entanglements on baseball -- probably comes from having lived in Atlanta during the Dead Braves era. Anyway, we get Red Sox up here, which (most years) can be as frustrating as the Cubs.
Thanks--it's a fun time. I even re-sub'ed to Sports Illustrated because they're including a Hawks DVD, commemorative book, and t-shirt with a paid subscription.
I was so mad. It was obvious that as time ticked down, the Hawks had backed off and were playing not to lose instead of to win. Big mistake. I hope they learned their lesson and never do that again.
