I've officially turned over my Wiscon hotel room to someone else, which makes the 'not going this year' a done deal. I've known for months I wouldn't be able to make it, but there's knowing and there's *knowing.*

Maybe next year, unless I break down and take a real, non-con, non-writing-related vacation.

Are you going this year? There are a few folks who are going who never go and who I'm going to miss seeing, dammit. Unless they come to WFC, that is.

I have never taken a travel vacation that was not writing-related. Not ever. My parents could never manage vacations due to things like bad luck and ill health and the need to work, and the going away to have fun thing never made it into my bloodstream. I really need to give Life a try, you know?

Nope, I've only made it to Wiscon once, when Broad Universe sent me. This year our vacation time is going to a family cruise, which will be great fun. But, as is typical of these trips, I'll be teaching online while I'm "away."

K and I went to Greece with our friend Snuffy in 2001, though, and we are saving for a trip to Sicily Some Day. And Christmas before last we spent almost three weeks in New York, which was amazing.
