And getting colder. Christmas Eve temps might approach record lows.
All this cold, and no White Christmas. The snow is heading south and east. I probably shouldn't complain...
Bad news on the iMac front. I had transferred files and had just started tearing down the old PC when the iMac display went wonky. It was in standby, with the Forest images--I noticed that the right 2/5s of the display was fuzzy. I woke it up, and the issue didn't get better--lines and flickering on the right portion of the screen.
I phoned Apple. Changed plugs, then changed locations as the tech directed. The verdict--hardware issue, which means a trip to the local CDW for repairs. Rats. I know hardware issues usually crop up soonest, and it's better to get this handled, but dang, it was sooo purty while it lasted.
Thus and so, I filled in time that I would have spent playing on the iMac by cleaning out the pit that my office had become. Tore down the PC anyway. Damp-ragged the floor, baseboards, and desk. Shoved files/papers/stuff to dump into a box, to be dealt with tomorrow. I now have a desk that looks like an adult uses it. So here I sit, using the iBook, which I hooked up to the printer.
It's so nice and clean, and will be even better after I file, dust shelves, and dump junk. A good way to start the new year.
Tomorrow, I drop off the iMac. Then, lunch with friends, including my webmistress, who I have never met.
