Dear Kristine: This is James P. Roberts from Madison, WI. I was wondering if you were going to be at WisCon this year? I saw it earlier on your website, but now all you have listed is the World Fantasy Convention in Columbus. If you are not able to make it to WisCon, could I send something for you to sign? It is a poem I have written which pays humorous tribute to some of the authors who have attended WisCon both past and present. I am trying to get all the authors mentioned to sign the poem. Then I will donate the poem to the WisCon auction and all proceeds will go to WisCon. So far I have Karen Joy Fowler, Mary Doria Russell, Laurel Winter and Ursula LeGuin on board. I also mention youself, Ellen Klages and Pat Murphy. Ellen and Pat I am sure will be at WisCon and I can likely get them at The Gathering on Friday. If you are going to be at WisCon, then I can hopefully meet you at The Gathering as well. Please let me know if a(are going to WisCon and b) you are interested in adding your signature to this 'signature' poem. With every good wish for nice weather and unbroken windows.

Hi James--no, I will not be attending Wiscon this year. I would be happy to sign the poem, however. Email me: ksmith at sff.net, and we can arrange for you to mail it/fax it/work something out.

I will add that I am flattered, really flattered, to be mentioned among such august company. Thank you.
