The Day The Printer Blew Up

ksmithNot literally. Figuratively was enough.
It was my all-in-one, with with the flatbed scanner/copier and fax capability. When I sat down at the desktop this evening, I saw the warning that the printer was disconnected. Reseating cords did nothing. Plugging into a different outlet did nothing. Broke down and phoned HP tech support even though I knew I was out of warranty, and was bounced to a guy in New Delhi. Worked through some resets. Still nothing. Dead as a doornail. Positively Marleyesque.
Well, this was a refurb approaching its third year, so maybe I shouldn't complain.
ANYway, New Printer was committed. Another all-in-one, which even brand-new comes in at over $100 less than the refurb cost three years ago. Should have it in a week. I checked out the HP recycling site, and signed up to have the dead printer picked up. I have to pay for the privilege, but all it's good for is ballast and I want it out.
That'll larn me to depreciate. This new printer is coming right off the top.
Funny thing. The tech guy was in India, and when it came time for me to buy a new printer, he hooked me up with the sales guy in Canada. It just struck me as bizarre, a three-country conference call. Don't know why.
